The Tennessee Titans grabbed a running back in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He was selected with the 81st overall pick.

Spears will compete for the backup RB spot behind Derrick Henry for the Titans. The former Tulane RB is a very talented RB, but there are some medical concerns that made him slip a bit in the draft. Many scouts thought he was a round two talent, but Spears lasted until the latter half of the third round.

Spears has suffered multiple torn ACLs in his career. Accordingly, recent medical checks showed a lack of an ACL in one of his knees.

Ian Rapoport broke down Spears' injury history and outlook going forward.

Spears certainly has the skills to play a role in the NFL. There is no doubting that. His contact balance and elusiveness are really exciting attributes, and there's a reason that the Titans took him on day two.

Tennessee believes that Spears can overcome those medical concerns.
