With the 186th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans selected Maryland offensive tackle Jaelyn Duncan.

The Titans add Duncan as depth to an offensive line that has a lot of question marks beyond the starting five. Tennessee signed Andre Dillard and Daniel Brunskill in free agency before using the 11th overall pick on Peter Skoronski to solidify the starting five up front.

Duncan will now come in and compete for a depth role, with hopes that his athletic flashes outshine his red flags.

Duncan's obvious upside as a prospect comes from his athleticism. His footwork is smooth and fluid and he slides outside with quickness and relative ease. As has been the trend with this entire Titans draft class, Duncan's RAS (Relative Athletic Score) is impressive.

Duncan does not come without statistical drawbacks, though. Duncan was penalized a combined 20 times over the past two seasons and allowed 7 sacks, 4 QB hits and 17 QB hurries in 477 pass-block snaps in 2022.

ESPN NFL Draft Analyst Todd McShay raised questions about whether or not Duncan "loves football," but given the fact that the Titans had him in Nashville for a Top 30 visit, it can be assumed they feel confident in his motivation and work ethic.

Another exciting nugget? Duncan spent time working out with Titans first round pick Peter Skoronski during the pre-draft process. There is already a relationship between the two rookies and some chemistry there.

Duncan told Titans media that he was surprised he was still available on Day 3. After all, he was valued anywhere between round three and four by most scouts, and Tennessee grabbed him in the sixth at 186 overall.

Whether or not this was the most pressing need on Tennessee roster is up for debate, but in terms of offensive line depth, Duncan is a solid option. Mike Vrabel saw how big of a detriment Dennis Daley and Tennessee's lack of offensive line depth was last season. This pick assures that won't be an issue in 2023.
