The Minnesota Vikings have been poking around at the quarterback position leading up to the 2023 NFL Draft.

The Vikings, who aren’t committed to any quarterback beyond the 2023 season, are investing some time into some of the top prospects at the position in this draft class.

Minnesota has already met with Florida’s Anthony Richardson, Kentucky’s Will Levis and Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker. However the Vikes are now doing their homework on another interesting signal caller: UCLA’s Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

Darren Wolfson reports the Vikings are "doing good work" on the Bruins standout.

One of the most electrifying dual threat quarterbacks in college football last season, Thompson-Robinson was must-see television at UCLA.

In 2022, he completed 69.6 percent of his passes for 3,169 yards, 27 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, while also rushing for 645 yards (5.5 YPA) and 12 touchdowns.

He displayed his game-changing athleticism in one of college football’s games of the year against Caleb Williams and USC. Thompson-Robinson accounted for six total touchdowns in a 48-45 loss to the Trojans, but he sent a message to all of the scouts in attendance.

Many draft experts believe DTR will hear his name called between Rounds 3-5, but his ceiling is being significantly under-discussed. If he’s around when the Vikings are on the clock with one of their mid-round selections, Thompson-Robinson would be the perfect value pick at a position the team must address at some point in the draft.
