The Denver Broncos were without one of their key players last year, as he got hurt before the season could even kick-off. They were without a guy who had over 1,400 receiving yards and 10 receiving touchdowns in the last two seasons before 2022.
Going into this last season, the Tim Patrick – Russell Wilson connection was making its way through training camp. It was being talked up as a duo to watch out for. And, Patrick was being talked about as a guy to watch out for in the 2022 season, as he had been a vital part of the poor offense in the past.
But, like we said, he ended up tearing his ACL and didn't get to play. That was a bigger loss for the Broncos than people think. Besides his rehab, he is though, doing things differently to better his game in 2023.
"Yeah, if I want to elevate my game and want to be one of those guys that make it into the double digits of playing, I'm definitely going to have to start watching more film and figure it out because I've been lucky to get by with just my abilities," Tim Patrick said on the Cut To It Podcast with Steve Smith Sr. "But at some point, like you said, God made everybody different and there's gonna be, there's gonna be some guys that, that might not work anymore, I'm going to have to have a different type of game plan, you know."
Patrick made it known on the podcast that he watches maybe 10-20 minutes of film a week on his opponents, which, is likely lower than others. But, he also made it known that he looks for their technique and how physical they are.
Patrick is a very good receiver. I'm not saying watching more film will make him better, but most of the time the guys that are great and at the top of the list, grind film. I'd be looking out for how much better his game gets just based on what he knows his opponents are going to do.
Not to mention, he also said he and Smith Sr., a soon-to-be Hall of Fame receiver, we're going to talk more about his game and improving in that area among others. It's going to be exciting to see how he continues to grow, even after the injury.
