The Denver Broncos were without one of their best weapons last season. That isn't the reason their offense was so bad in 2022, but it certainly didn't make things any better. They missed 700 receiving yards and five touchdowns just from him. Hopefully this next year they get the same production, or maybe even more.

Tim Patrick is a guy that was undrafted but burst onto the scene in 2020 and 2021 when he had 700 receiving yards both years and at least five touchdowns in both years. He ended his 2022 season early as he tore his ACL in training camp, which hurt even more because we heard all about the connection he and Russell Wilson were establishing.

Now, he is nearing the year mark of the date he got injured. His rehab has gone well and he is nearing something big – a fully healthy 2023 season.

"Every day I'm here around eight, get in activation, lift jumping, go out and run routes, sprint, sprint mechanics, full sleds the whole bit," Patrick said on the Cut To It Podcast with Steve Smith Sr. when asked about his current schedule. "At this point, I'm clear to do everything. I'm just doing repetition to get myself ready to play the game."

That is huge to hear. Patrick will be a vital part of the offense in 2023, especially with Sean Payton running things. There was some concern that maybe he and Javonte Williams weren't going to be ready for training camp, but what Patrick revealed to us makes me think otherwise.

Although, he also let us know there are still some things he is struggling with.

"It's just my technique and my route running is just completely off right now," Patrick continued. "I feel like I'm leaning back in a lot of things. Basics and digs are my hardest route right now because you put so much pressure to stop and come negative out of it. That's what's hard right now."

Luckily for Patrick, the Broncos have a new staff in place that is with him every day, even in this offseason. They will put him in the right positions to succeed. One thing we will see differently in 2023 from Patrick will help him with his knee.

"I'm going to wear a knee brace just because of the way I play the game," Patrick explained. "I want to feel like I have that security, and if it's not restricting me and it's allowing me to be me, I'm aware because I know I play the game a little recklessly. So just me knowing I have a knee brace on, I feel comfortable playing the way I want to play."

Patrick will bring a deep-threat presence, a guy who can high-point balls, and another guy that can go and get it in the red zone, something that didn't happen often last year. We hope he recovers well, and I know everyone can't wait to see him in the Sean Payton offense.
