Kentavius Street has been around the block since getting drafted in 2018. Now, he is in a position to offer advice to those who are in similar shoes.

Not too long ago Kentavius Street was going through his pre-NFL Draft process.

The No. 128 overall pick to the San Francisco 49ers in the 2018 NFL Draft, Street, 26, remembers what it was like to be unsure where his football career was heading. Fast forward to 2023, Street is the recent signing of the Philadelphia Eagles on a one-year $1.3 million deal, giving him a chance to prove himself as a key contributor at defensive tackle.

When he recently spoke to the media, Street, who has shown flashes of being a good player in the NFL, gave some sage advice to NFL prospects who are chomping at the bit to prove themselves at the pro level.

“I would say be confident,” Street said of what NFL Draft prospects should do. “Don’t listen to outside sources… Stay off of social media. I think all of us could probably benefit from staying off social media."

His advice didn't stop there.

“Just enjoy it,” Street said. “It’s the last time, probably besides free agency, where you can really experience a plethora of the organizations and what they have to offer.

“It’s a very special and unique moment that you’ve been grinding for your whole career, and to have it there, yeah, things may not be going how you want it to go, but you’re there. Enjoy that moment.”

Street, the wisdom-giver, last played for the New Orleans Saints. He played in 17 games, not starting in any of them. He racked up 29 total tackles and 3.5 sacks.

It is easy to understand why Eagles general manager Howie Roseman went after Street. He has a rare blend of talent, character, and football IQ. If he can put it all together for a long enough stretch this season, he will earn more money come 2024.

Street may be contributing for the Eagles on the field this season, but as of right now, he is offering young prospects the advice he wishes he had before the 2018 draft. In that draft, Street was likely going to be a Day 2 selection until a torn ACL at North Carolina State’s pro day pushed him to Day 3.
