Over 40 Colorado Buffaloes college football players have entered the NCAA transfer portal over the last two weeks.
Deion Sanders, who was hired as Colorado's new head coach earlier this offseason, is completely flipping the Buffaloes' roster. And a former Tennessee Vols player is among the new guys that Sanders is bringing to Boulder.
Former Tennessee defensive lineman Amari McNeill, who entered the transfer portal earlier this month, announced on Thursday that he's transferring to Colorado.
McNeill, a Suwanee, GA native, is a former three-star recruit who signed with Tennessee in late 2020. He stuck around in Knoxville after Jeremy Pruitt was fired as the Vols' head coach.
Unfortunately for McNeill, he didn't receive much playing time at Tennessee over the last two years.
And McNeill, who could also play along the offensive line if needed, wasn't in line to receive much playing time in 2023, either (despite the fact that he reportedly had a solid spring for the Vols).
McNeill should be able to find a path to playing time a bit quicker at Colorado.
