NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans selected offensive lineman Peter Skoronski in the first round (11th overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-4-inch, 313-pounder provides a necessary influx of talent to a group that desperately needs it.

The Northwestern product is the combination of violent and explosive that fits perfectly in Tennessee.

A three-year starter, Skoronski was dropped in at the left tackle spot in 2020 and started every and dominated. Per Dane Brugler at The Athletic, he was the only offensive tackle in college football with 830-plus snaps and six or fewer pressures allowed. Whether Skoronski plays tackle or guard for the Titans is now the question.

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill and running back Derrick Henry will be grateful for Skoronski's on-field support either way.

Carthon signed two offensive linemen to the Titans roster last month in free agency. Left tackle Andre Dillard and veteran swingman Daniel Brunskill joined the team on team-friendly deals. The addition of Skoronski adds depth and competition at both spots. Tennessee allowed 49 sacks in 2022, good for fifth-worst in the NFL last year.

Skoronski's arm length (32, 1/4) is a primary reason a move from tackle to the interior is possible, if not likely.

Tennessee went into this offseason needing to replace left tackle Taylor Lewan, guard Nate Davis and center Ben Jones.
