The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs played one of the best Super Bowl games ever, even if the outcome wasn't what we all wanted. But, it was a classic nonetheless.
And, we also got to see two organizations who have a lot of respect for each other, showing that in different ways. Whether it be through Andy Reid, who coached for the Eagles long ago and had a ton of success, or the Kelce family, who have a brother on both teams.
The two teams and fan bases had a very civil week, and the things leading up to the game were nice, as there wasn't any hostility to be found.
Even after the game, Kansas City Chiefs fans showed their gratitude to Jason Kelce, by helping him in one huge way.
"Dear friends, fans, and supporters…
.. Although it really sucks that we lost the Super Bowl, it has humbled me greatly to see the support that my foundation, (Be)Philly, has gotten in the last 48 hours. Largely coming from our opponents last Sunday, we have now exceeded our initial online fundraising goal of $100,000. Chiefs Kingdom sure knows how to win with class, and I cannot thank you all enough for supporting the (Be)Philly Foundation's mission here in Philadelphia. As a reminder, 100% of donations go directly towards funding our selected programs you can learn more about what we're up to by visiting bephilly.org."
Kelce posted that on his Instagram, and let the Chiefs fans know that it meant a lot to him. Both of these fan bases don't really have a lot of hostility against each other either, and it showed.
Sure, there was some hostility after the game between players, such as JuJu Smith-Schuster, A.J. Brown, and C.J. Gardner-Johnson, but we don't have to talk about that part.
Really though, the respect between the two really shows, and Chiefs fans put their money where their mouth is, and put it to a good cause.
