One of the big storylines from the Cincinnati Bengals' loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game was all the trash talk that was exchanged between the two teams the week before the game.

That trash talk included some comments from Cincinnati mayor Aftab Pureval, who "proclaimed" that Joe Burrow was Patrick Mahomes' father.

Mahomes noted after the game that the mayor went after him and it was motivation for Kansas City (among all the other trash talk).

It's one thing when the trash talk is between players. But when the mayor — someone who isn't out there competing — gets involved, it takes things to a different level.

Pureval was the only person that really went after Mahomes. And it turned out to not be a wise decision.

Taylor never condemned the mayor for his video, but Reid said what Taylor is likely thinking.

"I'm sure Zac, head coach Zac Taylor, didn't want that out there," said Reid this week of Pureval's video.

Reid is probably 100 percent correct. But Taylor still has to live in Cincinnati so it's probably best not to start any drama with the mayor. It's not like it'll change the outcome of the game. What's done is done.

I'd be willing to bet, though, that Cincinnati's mayor never makes another "proclamation" like the one he made before the Bengals' game against the Chiefs.
