The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles are setting an example for the league, as they are both going to be a part of history on Sunday when the Super Bowl kicks off.

Both quarterbacks have had great seasons, and in a way, career seasons. The Chiefs quarterback will likely be named the MVP of the league, while Jalen Hurts cemented himself as a top-five quarterback in the league as he is listed as a finalist for the MVP award.

Both teams are number one seeds with the number one and number two offenses on the year in terms of points per game. Both teams were widely considered the best in the league for most of the year.

But, most importantly, both of these quarterbacks are a part of history, as it will be the first time there are two black starting quarterbacks in a Super Bowl.

Patrick Mahomes had a special message on the widely popular topic.

“Yeah to be on the world stage and have two Black quarterbacks start in the Super Bowl – I think it’s special and I’ve learned more and more about the history of the Black quarterback since I’ve been in this league," Mahomes said earlier this week.

"And the guys that came before me and (Eagles QB) Jalen (Hurts) set the stage for this and now I’m just glad we can kind of set the stage for the kids that are coming up now. It’ll be a great game against two great teams and against another great quarterback. So, I’m excited to go out there and try to do what we can to win against a great team.”

These guys are setting examples not only for other black quarterbacks in the league but for kids who want to be in the league. Not to mention, Mahomes and Hurts are both quarterbacks who are at the top of the league.

These are two Texas-born guys just playing the sport that they love. Both of them are the face of the league and making history. Both guys also have a ton of respect for each other. It really doesn't get any better than that.
