This offseason has gone well so far for the Denver Broncos, but they aren't done. They still have to absolutely nail the draft, which will be harder for the considering how many picks they have, and where they draft.

They don't have any first or second-round picks. Their first two picks are back-to-back in the third round. That's what happens though when you trade away some of your picks for Russell Wilson. Next year will be a bit different, but for now, they are focused on guys who will be in the third round.

This team needs both offensive and defensive help. Neither side of the ball is perfect, and both sides of the ball still have room for improvement at almost every position.

In the draft, I could see them going defense with their first pick, or second for that matter since they are back-to-back. They need some defensive back depth and a starting cornerback. They also need help on the interior defensive line, but not enough to take a guy with the first pick.

Pro Football Focus named the perfect day-two pick for the Broncos, and I think most Broncos fans will enjoy it. Here is who they picked:

DENVER BRONCOS: CB CAM SMITH, SOUTH CAROLINA

Smith could very easily be a Kareem Jackson-esque player for Denver with outside, inside, and safety versatility. His ball skills would pair well across from Patrick Surtain II, as Smith broke up 15 passes and picked off four more on 70 targets across the past two seasons.

Michael Renner, Pro Football Focus

Smith could be around when the Broncos pick at 67, and if so, they have to pull the trigger. He fits what Vance Joseph wants to do, and would be able to come in and play right away.

Here is the draft profile PFF did on Smith:

Smith finds footballs. Twenty-two of his 94 career targets were either picked off or broken up. That’s production that you can’t fake. Smith’s speed will need to be protected on the outside at the next level. That concern can be alleviated in a slot role, where his natural playmaking ability could shine. Many of Smith’s shortcomings are physical, but his missed tackles are fixable. He’s too quick to leave his feet and dive at ball carriers, leading to a 16.3% career missed tackle rate.

Pro Football Focus

The Broncos need a guy like Smith. If he can develop to his full potential, he, Patrick Surtain, and Demarri Mathis could be a great trio for years to come.
