Branch was a 3-year contributor at Alabama, who played multiple positions in the secondary. He's got great physical traits, and has played a lot of good football, however his tape concerns me. He should be a 1st round pick, but could very easily turn into a bust in my opinion, based on his track record of success and struggles in college.

Strengths:

  1. Versatility: Branch has the ability to play multiple positions in the defensive backfield, including safety and nickel cornerback. This versatility allows him to be used in a variety of defensive schemes and packages.
  2. Athleticism: Branch is an athletic player who possesses good speed and quickness. He has good range and can cover a lot of ground in the secondary.
  3. Playmaking Ability: Branch has a nose for the ball and is capable of making game-changing plays. He had two interceptions and two forced fumbles during his freshman season at Alabama.
  4. Physicality: Branch is a physical player who is not afraid to get involved in the run game. He has good tackling technique and can deliver big hits.

Weaknesses:

  1. Technique: While Branch has good athleticism and physicality, he will need to work on his technique in coverage. He can sometimes be a bit over-aggressive and will need to learn how to balance his physical play with sound technique.
  2. Awareness: At times, Branch can be slow to recognize and react to offensive plays. He will need to work on his awareness and develop a better understanding of offensive schemes and tendencies.
