For the second straight season, the Tennessee Vols are heading to a Super Regional.

Tennessee advanced past regional play via a 9-2 win over Charlotte on Sunday, which came less than 24 hours after the Vols' thrilling 14-inning win against Clemson on Saturday night.

After Tennessee's win, Charlotte head coach Robert Woodard spoke to reporters and he made quite the statement about the Vols.

Woodward feels like Tennessee is playing some exceptional baseball right now and he thinks they'll be an extremely hard team to beat in the Super Regional.

The 49ers' head coach called the Vols "impressive" and noted that Charlotte played a high level of baseball against Tennessee and still lost 9-2.

"That's going to be a very tough team to beat in a super regional series based on the way they played against us," said Woodard.

Tennessee was unable to advance past the Super Regional a year ago.

This time around, it feels like the Vols are peaking at the right time. Last year proved that what teams do in the regular season has no impact on how Regionals and Super Regionals play out. It's all about who gets hot at the right time. And this season, that might just be the Vols.
