The Cincinnati Bengals have had some great players in their history, but none are more revered than Anthony Munoz.
For 13 seasons in Cincinnati (1980-1992), Munoz dominated defensive linemen as well as any offensive lineman ever has and it got him inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1998 in his first year of eligibility.
25 years later, Munoz will be honored again in Canton, Ohio this August.
Munoz made 11 straight Pro Bowls from 1981 to 1991 and garnered 11 consecutive All-Pro selections as well during that span (nine first-team nods). His other accolades include being a member of the 1980s All-Decade Team, the 75th Anniversary All-Time Team, the 100th Anniversary All-Time Team, the 1990 Bart Starr Award, the 1991 NFL Man of the Year, and being a member of the Cincinnati Bengals Ring of Honor.
Before Joe Burrow led the Bengals to the Super Bowl in 2021, Munoz was one of the main reasons Cincinnati made Super Bowl appearances in 1981 and 1988, the franchise's only other trips to the big game.
Munoz had a brief stint as a commentator for Fox Sports (1994-1995) and he also does commentary for Bengals preseason games.
If anyone deserves to be recognized again for his amazing career it's Munoz considering he's acknowledged around the NFL world as one of the greatest offensive linemen of all time.
Bengals legend’s Hall of Fame hopes receive major boost
A welcomed endorsement from one of the all-time greats.
