It didn't take long for Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow to set the tone for the 2023 season.

On the Bengals' first day of training camp, Burrow quickly made it clear, without directly saying it, that he's entering the 2023 season with a unique focus.

This is the first "normal" offseason that Burrow's had since entering the NFL. COVID, a torn ACL, and an unexpected appendectomy have plagued Burrow the previous three offseason.

For the first time since 2019 when he was at LSU, Burrow gets to focus fully on football during training camp. And that focus comes just six months after Cincinnati suffered a soul-crushing loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game.

While speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Burrow, who is always confident, came across as a man on a mission.

When asked about season two of Netflix docuseries "Quarterback", Burrow made a comment that suggested the 2023 season is going to be different for the Bengals.

Burrow said he'd like to do the docuseries (which closely follows the life of a quarterback…it's essentially reality TV without the manufactured drama), but not in 2023.

"Maybe one year, this year I'm not," said Burrow. "I would like to do it maybe a couple of years down the road, but I don't think now is the right time."

That comment combined with Burrow's quote about being "one of the best in the world" hints at a sense of urgency for himself and the Bengals in 2023.

It feels like Cincinnati is entering the 2023 season focused on nothing but winning a championship. It's clear that Burrow doesn't want to wait around and hope that he eventually brings a Lombardi Trophy to Ohio. He's not interested in wasting any time. Instead, he's eager to get the job done in 2023. And because Burrow is such an elite leader, his approach is going to permeate the Bengals' locker room.

The Bengals will be looking to get off to a quick start in 2023 (unlike their 5-4 starts the last two seasons). Based on the tone coming from Burrow early in camp — which is almost certainly inspired by that AFC Championship game loss to the Chiefs — I'd look for that fast start to happen. I have a strong feeling that we're going to see the Bengals kick things up a notch in 2023.
