The Green Bay Packers threw everyone a curveball when they ruled out wide receiver Romeo Doubs ahead of the Seattle Seahawks matchup, but according to head coach Matt LaFleur, the decision was more precautionary, than anything.

"I mean, there's always concern right when you plan on somebody to go out and play, but I think it's more precautionary," LaFleur told reporters after the game. "We'll let you know here in about a week and a half when we get our first injury report."

Doubs' health -he was ruled out because of a hamstring injury- will certainly be something to monitor when the Packers resume game prep on Wednesday, September 6. He's a key part of the passing attack and is expected to make a big jump in Year 2 with Jordan Love at the helm.

That wasn't the end of the Packers' unexpected injuries, either. Rookie quarterback Sean Clifford left the Seahawks matchup early after he dinged his arm on a QB sneak.

His exit was more circumstance than anything, though.

"I think he's fine," said LaFleur. "So basically what happened, you know, we ran the quarterback sneak [and] I think he got hit on the elbow – just hit his funny bone. And if it wouldn't have been the fourth quarter, he would have stayed in the game. I just wanted to give [third-string QB] Alex McGough some time [because] I think he's earned it."

It's obviously encouraging news for both the Packers and their fans. Doubs and Clifford are definitely part of the foundation when it comes to the future of this team, so it goes without saying when talking about their importance.
