Head coach Zac Taylor and the Cincinnati Bengals are going to wait and see if two of their best players will be able to play this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.
Wide receiver Tee Higgins (rib) returned to practice Friday and cornerback Chidobe Awuzie (back) missed practice. Taylor said he'll wait on declaring Higgins out or not tomorrow, and Awuzie could end up being a game-time decision.
After missing Wednesday and Thursday's practices, Higgins partook in Friday's session, running routes and catching passes for the first time this week since suffering one fractured rib against the Tennessee Titans. Higgins told media this week that it's ultimately up to him feeling capable of playing through the pain.
Awuzie's situation is a bit more unclear. The starting corner tweaked his back on Thursday and sat out Friday. Resting the next day could be precautionary, or it could signal he won't be able to suit up on Sunday.
If the latter ends up being true, at least Cam Taylor-Britt is on track to play. Taylor mentioned that he feels good about his other starting corner playing a week after suffering a concussion.
Higgins, Awuzie, and Taylor-Britt are all officially questionable for Sunday, as well as edge defender Trey Hendrickson. The two-time Pro Bowl pass rusher joined Awuzie as a DNP with a back injury. Linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither (knee) missed his sixth straight practice and has already been declared out for a second week in a row.
