Cleveland Browns answered the adversity they were faced with and picked up a 13-10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
With the win, the Browns are in sole place of second in the AFC North with a record of 7-3. The rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson answered the call and led the Browns down the field by going 5-of-5 for 39 yards, and it ended up being a Dustin Hopkins game-winning 34-yard field goal that was the difference.
DTR finished the game just 24-of-43 passing with 165 yards but the fifth-round rookie stepped up right when the Browns needed him and made some key plays.
This game was a total 360 from the Ravens game back in Week 4 that was ugly for him. Thompson-Robison coughed up the ball four times in that game with three interceptions and a fumble. In Week 11, it was just one interception on a pass that was tipped.
Running the ball didn’t work much, so the Browns had to rely on some timely throws and stellar defense. Cleveland’s leading rusher was Kareem Hunt with 12 runs resulting in 36 yards. Jim Schwartz’s defense gave up 242 total yards, over 70 of them came on a long touchdown run by Jaylen Warren.
This is the kind of game that Cleveland will hope that DTR can build off of. Picking up a win is a confidence booster and the rookie can use that for him next week against the Broncos.
