After being 26th in EPA+CPOE composite and 19th in success rate between weeks 1 and 5, Love improved to 9th in EPA+CPOE and 17th in success rate since week 7.

Love's PFF grades, basic, and advanced stats have all improved, especially since the win over the Los Angeles Rams.

"It makes sense that there would be some growing pains," said A to Z film analyst James Foster. "If he's able to continue and build on what he's done the last four or five weeks, then I think the Packers have their quarterback of the future."

Technique

Jordan Love is a very creative thrower. Sometimes, that has been costly — and if you watch the film from his last season at Utah State, it absolutely was. But as he progresses in the NFL, his ability to create elevates his ceiling.

"One of the most impressive things about Jordan Love, just in terms of physical talent, is his ability to throw with accuracy and velocity when his feet aren't set," James Foster evaluates. "Consistent footwork is something he needs to improve on, but there are times as a quarterback that you aren't going to be able to throw from a clean platform. Being able to drift to avoid interior pressure and then put enough heat is just really impressive."

Young offense

Before the season, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said that his plan was to allow the young players to grow together. And that's why every wide receiver on the roster and every tight end except Josiah Deguara is a rookie or second-year player.

The extreme youth created problems early in the season. But these talented players are coming along, and Jordan Love's game looks better as well.

Jayden Reed has become a solid offensive piece, while Christian Watson finally had a breakout game in 2023 against the Detroit Lions.

It's still early to have a definitive answer of what Jordan Love can or will be as a quarterback. But at this point, he has given enough signs for the Packers to keep him beyond 2023 — and with a young offense growing together, there are reasons to be optimistic about the future in Green Bay.
