Part of being a franchise-leading QB in this league is knowing what to say and when to say it.

Arguably the hardest position in all of pro sports, the demands of a signal caller go far and beyond the Xs and Os.

But sometimes, QBs show they have a human side, re-directing their robotic answers and telling us how they really feel, even if they shouldn't.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett just did as much:

Kenny Pickett Didn't Learn From Mason Rudolph

Well, no need to mince words, a simple "No" will suffice in Pickett's case.

Now, I understand why he said it. As reported, Kenny was pushing to play last week vs. Cincinnati and believes he can play against the Seahawks on Sunday.

But whether it be the Steelers staying true to the medical advice, or sticking with the hot hand, Mason Rudolph is preparing for his second start in a row, something Pickett obviously isn't thrilled about.

The problem is, a simple one-word answer creates more fodder than a detailed soliloquy on how watching from the bench really opened his eyes to different tendencies or schematical advantages, even if Pickett thinks it's B.S.

But that's part of the job description when it comes to QB. Being buttoned up and a master at saying a lot of words that mean just about nothing is part of the position.

It's a tough test that signal callers face multiple times a week, but it's one they should be prepared for, and one Kenny Pickett usually aces.

This time he flunked it.
