Since his inception into the NFL, Pittsburgh Steelers WR George Pickens has been a human highlight reel.

The problem is, there has been a lack of substance behind his jaw-dropping plays.

But since Mason Rudolph has taken over, Pickens is showing that there is plenty of bite behind his bark:

Rudolph To Pickens Heats Up

After a dominant performance against the Bengals that saw Pickens go for nearly 200 yards, the budding star doubled down in Seatle, proving that good things happen when you target him consistently:

Pickens has broken the 1000-yard receiving mark after the last two weeks, sitting at 1140 with a week to go.

Even more impressive though, Pickens is averaging a whopping 18.1 yards per reception, showing he can win vertically, and presenting a skillset that offenses covet.

But before Rudolph was inserted into the lineup, the last time Pickens broke the 100-yard mark in a game was before Halloween.

His frustrations with his lack of targets and production (albeit inexcusable) reached a boiling point in the Indianapolis game where he was ridiculed for a total lack of effort.

So not only has Rudolph calmed the storm that Pittsburgh's wideouts can be, but he's setting Pickens up to receive a big contract should his recent play continue.

Rudolph knows where his bread is buttered on this offense, and it just so happens to be putting dough in Pickens ' pockets.
