Aidan Hutchinson believes controversial loss in Dallas was destiny

Saturday night was hard, but the way the Detroit Lions are responding to that moment is something I can't say I've seen any other Lions team do in the past. I used to think that the way teams respond after moments like this would tell the story of who they truly were and I've seen multiple teams crumble after these moments. These Lions are different though. They've been acting like this was supposed to happen or needed to happen.
Lions head coach Dan Campbell already talked about how this moment was a blessing, now the players are putting out similar sentiments. Aidan Hutchinson was on the St. Brown Brothers podcast on Wednesday and he called the moment destiny.
"I really do believe that it's just like some destiny stuff." Hutchinson said. "You know, because when I was a senior at Michigan we lost to Michigan State when we were undefeated. It was like a top 10 matchup and we lost at Michigan State and it was kind of one of those bullshitty games where it's it kind of gets away from you.
I scored a touchdown on the other team, got the strip sack and that would have made it like a three or four possession game and they overturned it. And then after that, momentum it just kind of snowballed. But that was one of those things that I think if that game hadn't happened that wouldn't have propelled us the rest of the season, even beating Ohio State or winning the big 10 championship that year. Like I don't think any of that would have happened.
So that's why I kind of correlate that with this because this is one of those things where it's like, it was a stupid call. It is what it is but like, I think this is only going to motivate us and especially, you know, as we move into the playoffs, and you know if we advance and we played Dallas again at their place, I just feel like we have so much confidence knowing that we should have won that game. Its a destiny thing. I feel like we're ready."
Hutchinson wasn't able to finish that thought becasue St. Brown interrupted Hutchinson to let him know that his words made him want to run through a brick wall. Actually multiple brick walls.
There's a strong chance that the Lions may able to get that playoff rematch with the Cowboys if they stay int he third seed and beat the Rams or Packers. If the Cowboys win their game, both teams have another date in Dallas in the second round with a chance to go to the NFC championship game.
We've seen how they've responded with words, we'll see on Sunday, and in the playoffs, how they respond on the field.
