Pittsburgh Steelers GM Omar Khan said the team would welcome Mason Rudolph back while speaking at the NFL Combine last week.

But Khan also said they have full faith in Kenny Pickett, with all signs pointing to him being the starter barring a signing of a big-name free agent.

So for Rudolph, he is likely to explore other options, with these three making the most sense:

Team 1: Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings will boast one of the league’s most questionable QB rooms should free agent Kirk Cousins go elsewhere as arguably the most coveted player in the free agent class.

Nick Mullens and Jarren Hall are the only QBs under contract in 2024 for Minnesota.

And while the Vikings would likely look to the draft to find their future, Rudolph could fill in as a bridge QB while the young passer gets up to speed. Minnesota would have to trade up if they wanted any part of the big three that is Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, and potentially even J.J. McCarthy.

Team 2: New England Patriots

The Patriots hold a top-three pick in the draft and would be out of their mind not to pick Daniels, Williams, or Maye, especially if Washington decides to draft Daniels and Chicago takes Williams as many believe.

But the Patriots may need to clean shop with the current QBs on their roster. Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe both probably want a fresh start at this point. That's where Rudolph comes in, serving as a high-level backup who could start if New England wanted to take things slow with a rookie signal-caller.

Team 3: Pittsburgh Steelers

That's right the Steelers would serve as one of the better situations for Rudolph, and honestly, present the best opportunity for him in terms of starting.

Sure he may have to compete with Pickett, but it's well-documented that he has fans within the organization and is coming off his best season to date as a pro.

If not for familiarity alone, Pittsburgh makes the most sense for Rudolph, but especially if he wants a real shot at starting in 2024.
