Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson returned to practice on Wednesday and according to ESPN's Todd Archer, he "did everything during the open (to the media) portion of practice."

The team's official injury report, which will release later today, will reveal more about the game status for Ferguson, who was allegedly close to playing against the New Orleans Saints last Sunday.

Earlier in the week, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said on the radio everything looked good to go for Ferguson. He will likely be listed as a limited participant when the report is made official, which would be significant progress after he missed practice all of last week.

Ferguson suiting up against the Ravens would be huge, as Dak Prescott's Week 2 postgame words about his rising tight end reflect.

"As I’ve said throughout the week, Jake’s more than just a tight end on Sunday," Prescott said. "He’s an aggressor. He brings a physical nature to this group. He’s got a mentality that other guys feed off of, that’s very contagious."

The Ravens defense has the playmakers to really shut down the Cowboys' tight ends if Ferguson doesn't play, as they've got one of the best safeties in the league in Kyle Hamilton and one of the best linebackers in Roquan Smith.

In contrast, if Ferguson can go, the Ravens defense might be in trouble as their secondary allowed rookie Brock Bowers to go off on Sunday with nine catches for 98 yards.

Cowboys vs Ravens initial injury report

Surprisingly, two All-Pros were non-participants on Wednesday's practice: CeeDee Lamb (ankle) and Trevon Diggs (foot). Additionally, Mazi Smith dealt with back tightness and didn't practice.

On the Ravens' side of things, left tackle Ronnie Stanley and safety Kyle Hamilton missed practice with an ankle and back injury, respectively.
