The Green Bay Packers won, but not everything was perfect on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Quarterback Jordan Love injured his groin and was limited during the entire first half — in the second, he couldn't play anymore, paving the way for backup Malik Willis to be on the field.
The Packers still don't know how serious Love's injury is, but head coach Matt LaFleur is certainly concerned with the situation.
"No idea," LaFleur answered when asked if he knew the details of the injury. "But obviously, high level of concern any time a guy is in there. He did it early in that first drive. I think everybody could see him struggling to move around. It got to a point where we didn't feel like and he didn't feel like he could protect himself."
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Jordan Love's injury isn't expected to be a long-term issue.
Despite the tough circumstances, the Packers were able to find a way to win 30-27, improving to 6-2 in the regular season. For that, LaFleur is proud of his team.
"It wasn't our cleanest game, I would say, but I thought the ability to find a way to get it done, ultimately, that is what's all about," LaFleur mentioned. "It's always tough to go on the road in this league. And we had multiple guys to step up, maybe that not necessarily we're planning to go into the game. Our coaches did a nice job making a lot of adjustments. Ultimately, the players themselves being able to go in there and make the plays necessary to get the dub."
It's a muscle injury, so Jordan Love will probably not miss much time — the level of concern is certainly not as high as it was when Love injured his knee in week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil.
But there is a big game next week, when the Packers face the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field — the winner will be at the top of the NFC North. Then, Green Bay has its bye week before playing the Chicago Bears in week 11 at Soldier Field.
