Florida State Seminoles veteran that they got in the transfer portal just made one play that shows FSU made the right decision

NCAA football is much better when the Florida State Seminoles are a good football team. That’s just a fact that I’m sure millions of people would agree with.
2025 should be better, but then again, is that very hard? They were so bad last year — their worst season since the ’70s, and if Mike Norvell can do worse than that, he won’t make it to the end of the season. So, 2025 is a pretty big year, and he knows that, too.
And that’s why he went and got some of the guys he did in the transfer portal. One of them is proving to Norvell and the Seminoles why it was the right decision.
Seminoles transfer wide receiver Duce Robinson makes insane catch
Duce Robinson is a 6’6”, 220-pound wide receiver who honestly looks like a tight end. But, he’s not — he’s a wide receiver, and the way he moves and plays proves that. The Seminoles got a huge win this offseason, and he decided transferring from USC to FSU was what he wanted to do with the rest of his collegiate career.
At USC, he had 39 catches for 747 yards and seven touchdowns over two seasons. That doesn’t sound crazy, but Robinson has often been used wrong in USC’s offense, and was behind some really, really good players.
Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, he’s a five-star recruit and the son of former FSU football player Dominic Robinson. After playing tight end at USC, he switched to wide receiver, which is better for him. At FSU, he’s expected to shine under coaches Mike Norvell and Gus Malzahn in 2025, using his size and athleticism to become a top receiver, and probably the best one on the roster. And, at practice, we saw exactly why they went and got him in the portal.
Robinson made a contested catch over a Seminoles defender that really makes your jaw drop; that’s how good it was. When you watch the play, you may find yourself, over and over again, putting the play in slow motion to try and figure out how exactly he even caught it.
Robinson is just giving Florida State a bit of a sample of what he will do in 2025. He was one of the best available guys in the transfer portal at his position, and there is a reason the Seminoles went after him.
The offense, under a brilliant Gus Malzahn, could take a massive leap forward with Robinson, as compared to what we saw last year. But, then again, they were so bad last year that it wouldn’t be too hard.
