Marvin Harrison Jr. made an honest admission about his 5-star brother that’ll have Buckeye Nation wishing he was on campus sooner
Marvin Harrison Jr.’s latest comment on Ohio State commitment Jett Harrison is making waves, and it’s easy to see why.
The Ohio State Buckeyes landed one of their biggest recruiting wins of the offseason when 5-star wide receiver Jett Harrison committed to the class of 2028.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound wideout is ranked as the No. 4 player in the country and No. 2 wide receiver in the class according to the 247Sports Composite. Harrison is the younger brother of former Ohio State star Marvin Harrison Jr., and the Arizona Cardinals receiver recently made it clear just how highly he thinks of Jett’s potential.
“Jett is a lot more talented than I ever was at his age,” Marvin told Arizona Cardinals reporters recently. “I think what really sets us apart is the mentalities that we have. I just love the confidence he has in himself,” Marvin told Arizona Cardinals reporters on Monday. “He feels he can do anything in this world, and I love that about him. I just try to do my part in being his big brother, steer him down the right path. I always emphasize work ethic, continue to work.”
Marvin Harrison Jr. set the standard at Ohio State
Things worked out well for Harrison Jr. in Columbus. He was a Biletnikoff Award winner and a Heisman finalist before becoming the No. 4 overall pick to the Arizona Cardinals. Coming into Ohio State, Marvin was a 4-star recruit on the edge of the top 100 and didn’t carry the same level of hype that Jett does coming out of St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia.
Ohio State was able to beat out Oregon as the biggest competitor for Jett, and landing him as the premier 5-star wideout in the class of 2028 made too much sense. The Buckeyes know what that bloodline can produce in Columbus.
Jett is going to have more expectations on him arriving in Columbus than Marvin did. He’s a 5-star, top-5 overall recruit in the class of 2028. Marvin wasn’t expected to come in and battle for playing time right away, while that will be the case for Jett.
Still, if Marvin is saying his brother is better than he was at that age, that’s an exciting take. We all know how good Marvin was coming out of high school and even early on in Columbus.
The Buckeyes already hold the top-ranked high school recruiting class in 2028, and Jett figures to be a player who could contribute as a true freshman. Time will tell how the rest of the class shapes up, but this is a class headliner for Ohio State without a doubt.
