Bills get exciting update on slew of injured players that could change the entire season for the team
It couldn’t have come at a better time.
The Buffalo Bills got some good injury news before their first preseason matchup against the New York Giants. Before playing even a single snap, the team got some positive updates on both sides of the football, and the Bills Mafia has to be excited.
While they didn’t appear in the contest, a slew of players suited up and participated in light drills for the team. A welcome sign for a team that’s banged up with high hopes of bringing a Lombardi trophy to One Bills Drive.
Training camp is the time of year when these players are installed into the offense and defense and get to build chemistry with their units.
The meaningful reps gear the team up for the regular season, and missing them, regardless of position, puts the team in a challenging position before taking a single snap. However, with the latest update, the team and fans have to be thrilled.
Bills’ defense may get some reinforcements soon
On defense, Terrel Bernard, Dorian Williams, and Cole Bishop were seen on the field. A couple of key starters at some important positions seemed to be moving closer to being on the field.
Bishop has missed substantial time over the past two training camps, so seeing him get back into full health will go a long way for the team to achieve their goals.
Bernard, of course, paired with Matt Milano, is a nightmare for opposing offenses, and having him back on the field cannot be overstated, given how important they both are combined on the football
Bills’ offense gets exciting update
On offense, Josh Allen getting his weapons back and healthy is huge. While they didn’t participate in the contest, James Cook’s showing up in uniform and some drills was a huge boost for an organization that’s been overshadowed by his current contract drama.
For Curtis Samuel, the Bills are hoping he can find a way to take an important step forward with this current offense. Despite battling some injury, Samuel’s full potential was nowhere near unlocked in his first season in Buffalo, so getting him healthy is beyond imperative.
While they didn’t appear in the contest, they’re inching closer to being available for the team, and it couldn’t come at a better time. Having the likes of Cook, Bernard, Williams, Bishop, and Samuel back on both sides of the football changes the trajectory of this team. Put plainly, with them on the field, it changes the entire season. The front office and fans are hoping to see each and every one of them back in action yesterday, but for now, we’ll just celebrate the little wins.
This is great news for Bills fans, and we’re more than excited for what they may bring to the regular season.
