Bradley Chubb catches more than just a win after Rams player sucker-punches him following Buffalo Bills’ victory on Monday night

The Buffalo Bills walked out of Los Angeles with a road win on Monday night. What happened between Bradley Chubb and a Rams offensive tackle after the final whistle is going to be the bigger talking point.

The Buffalo Bills went into Los Angeles on Monday night with a simple goal: beat the Los Angeles Rams in their own stadium and head home with a win. Buffalo did exactly that. Only, the Bills did more than just win the game, and edge defender Bradley Chubb ended up right in the middle of it.

ESPN shared a post on X showing a postgame altercation between Chubb and Rams offensive tackle Alaric Jackson. Multiple outlets caught the exchange, and it went well beyond the usual trash talk you see after a hard-fought game.

What happened between Bradley Chubb and Alaric Jackson

The end of an NFL game is usually where teams put their differences aside. Players swap jerseys, say hello to one another, often pray together, and then get off the field. That wasn’t the case between Chubb and Jackson.

Earlier in the video, the two can be seen jawing at each other. Chubb eventually walks away, but Jackson follows him down the field and turns him around. They have a few more words for each other, and then Jackson takes a full-on, Mike Tyson-style swing at Chubb’s jaw.

A closer look from Barstool Sports makes it clear this was not a slight slap on the face either. Jackson threw a closed fist and appeared to be trying to lay Chubb out completely.

To be fair to Chubb, he didn’t do much in terms of retaliation. Several Bills players stepped in quickly, and Jackson’s own teammates pushed him aside before the situation could spiral any further. Given how heated the moment was, Chubb keeping his composure deserves some credit.

Why this is a 2-for-1 for the Bills

I think the NFL is going to step in here. It’s hard to watch that video and come away thinking the league will let a closed-fist swing at an opposing player slide without some kind of response.

There is a bigger takeaway for Buffalo, too. The Bills didn’t just walk into L.A. and leave with a victory. They clearly got under the Rams’ skin in the process, and that kind of frustration doesn’t boil over unless the losing side felt the game slipping away.

For Chubb, it’s a 2-for-1. He gets the win, and he gets a scenario where he rubs it in to the Los Angeles offensive tackle, who, let’s be honest, kind of sucker-punches him here given the environment. Chubb walked away from the confrontation once already, and Jackson was the one who chose to chase it down.

That is not a great look for Los Angeles. Losing at home is one thing. Losing at home and then having one of your starting offensive linemen take a swing at an opponent after the final whistle is another. The Rams will be answering questions about this one for the rest of the week, and none of them will be about football.

The way I see it, it was a really weird end-of-game scenario, but it doesn’t change the result. The Buffalo Bills came out as victors on Monday night, and Bradley Chubb is the one who got the last laugh.
