You would think that getting a good recruiting class after having a two-win season would be hard. Then, you look at the Florida State Seminoles and what they’ve done for their 2026 class, and you may be in awe.

Right now, the Seminoles have a top-15 class for 2026, and that could only get better, or worse, with some potential National Signing Day flips. But for now, that’s their class – a top-15 unit. And that’s impressive overall.

That may end up carrying over to their 2027 class, too. If the Seminoles can put some of their 2025 freshmen players on the field and let them have roles while also winning football games, that could be enticing to some of the 2027 players they are going after. That’s what they currently have to offer.

But that may not be enough. There’s one guy they really want that they obviously need to do some more work on because one school is beating them out pretty badly.

Seminoles really want 2027 safety Ta’Shawn Poole, but have some work to do

Ta’Shawn Poole is a 4-star safety in the 2027 class from Howard High School in Georgia that the Seminoles happen to love and want to add to their class. At 6’2” and 185 pounds, Pool plays safety, and may be that in college, but when you turn on his tape, you will see many different clips at different positions. His first three Hudle clips are a pick six as a safety, a punt returned for a touchdown, and a touchdown as a receiver.

Poole can do it all, has great speed for his size, and has a good change of direction, which is why some recruiting services, like 247Sports, rank him as a five-star talent.

Poole has received scholarship offers from major programs, including Auburn, Florida, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, and North Carolina. Georgia is heavily recruiting him, and as a lifelong fan, he considers them a top choice.

“I grew up a Georgia fan,” Poole told Rivals. “Georgia really recruits me hard, and they make sure I know they want me there. Georgia is definitely high on my list.

When asked about schools recruiting him the hardest, Georgia was first. He has visited the in-state school twice and he likes what he sees.

“I worked with T-Rob (Travaris Robinson) at camp, and he pushed me hard. “He’s a lot like Coach Smart in the way he coaches. I love the culture and how Kirby Smart pushes his players and gets them ready for the NFL. I will be at Georgia for my first game there this season.” – Chad Simmons, Rivals

So, it seems like the Seminoles have some work to do, as Georgia isn’t letting off of the gas.
