Taliese Fuaga’s injury doesn’t sound serious
Alvin Kamara had a solid day for New Orleans, scoring the team’s sole touchdown. He also handed Saints fans an update on Fuaga, who left the game early due to a knee injury. According to the star running back, Fuaga says that his knee is good. He sat on the bench with his helmet after leaving the game.
Hopefully, that means no missed games for the young offensive tackle. Fuaga had another impressive performance against the Cardinals, adding to his season-long success as a rookie last year. He was one of the most consistent rookies in the NFL last season and wants to build on that strong play.
Clarification on Chris Olave
According to head coach Kellen Moore, the Saints’ wide receiver was not evaluated for a concussion after taking a big hit from Cardinals CB Will Johnson. Rather, it was a chest injury for Olave.
This sort of situation is one that New Orleans must avoid. Olave has dealt with multiple concussions in recent seasons due to hard hits, and this was yet another scary example of one that he doesn’t need to take.
It remains to be seen if Olave misses any practice time due to the ailment. We will learn more about that this week. For the Saints, they desperately need him healthy for their passing game. The targets, particularly the depth outside, struggled to make plays. Juwan Johnson was the most consistent pass catcher for Spencer Rattler against Arizona.
