The Ohio State Buckeyes currently hold the No. 9 recruiting class for 2026, with not much work left to close things out. While they’ve missed on a few key targets in recent months, the Buckeyes are still in good position to finish with a top-10 class. Looking ahead to 2027, Ohio State is already off to a strong start as well.
Five-star wideout Jamier Brown is a big in-state win for the Buckeyes, and they also have their quarterback locked in with four-star Brady Edmunds, who is already taking on the role of peer recruiter. Now, Ohio State has its sights set on flipping a major Oregon commitment.
Ohio State targeting one of Dan Lanning’s key recruits
The Buckeyes hosted several top prospects for the Texas game, including five-star 2027 wideout Kesean Bowman out of Brentwood Academy (TN). Bowman committed to Oregon at the end of July, but a number of programs—Ohio State included—are still in pursuit. According to Rivals, Bowman confirmed that he plans to take an official visit to Columbus.
“The atmosphere was crazy. Seeing the receivers work up close stood out. It was a short visit, but I liked it. I will definitely take an official visit to Ohio State,” Bowman said, via Rivals.
Bowman is rated as the No. 6 wide receiver and the No. 36 overall player in the 2027 class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He’s also the No. 2 player in Tennessee, and one that Brian Hartline has clearly prioritized. At 6-foot-1, 174 pounds, Bowman would give the Buckeyes a second five-star receiver in the class if they can manage to flip him. Of course, that’s easier said than done—especially when trying to pull a commitment away from another premier Big Ten program.
Currently, Ohio State sits at No. 1 in the country while Oregon holds the No. 4 spot. The two programs often go head-to-head for elite talent, and Bowman is yet another example of that battle. For now, he’s committed to the Ducks, but until he signs and steps on campus in Eugene, expect plenty of pressure from Ohio State and other top programs looking to change his mind.

Quinshon Judkins is set to take a major step toward his NFL debut with the Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns’ offense was good enough to win in Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals, but they lost the game 17-16. A missed field goal and a missed extra point were the difference, though two turnovers on passes that hit wide receivers in the hands played a role as well. Cleveland outgained Cincinnati 327-141 […]
