Ravens star Roquan Smith sent a clear message to the Browns after Baltimore made Cleveland eat their words in Week 2

The Cleveland Browns went into their matchup with the Baltimore Ravens amped up and vocal. After being handed a 41-17 loss, much of that talk now looks a bit silly. Grant Delpit had said last week that Derrick Henry was no problem to bring down, and the Browns’ defense backed that up by holding him to just 23 yards on 11 carries. But the Ravens didn’t need an offensive explosion—Cleveland did plenty to help its opponent with two turnovers and a blocked punt.
Jerry Jeudy led the team in receiving with four catches for 51 yards, but he also added another drop to the stat sheet. The Browns now have five drops through two games, the most in the NFL. Jeudy had said last week that the Ravens’ secondary presented no challenges, but Baltimore proved otherwise, and Cleveland felt that all game long.
Ravens LB Roquan Smith sends message to the Browns
“That’s what he chose to say with his mouth. At the end of the day, it’s about what you do on the field,” Smith said after the game about Jeudy’s comments. “Talking don’t win you anything. It’s about how you come out and play. Hats off to him for having his opinion. This is America. Freedom of speech.”
The Ravens are now 1-1 after the win and hope to be in Super Bowl contention this season. Cleveland and Baltimore are clearly in very different places as franchises, and that showed in Week 2. Despite holding the Ravens to just 242 yards of offense, the Browns were beaten by three scores. The pregame chatter only made things worse in hindsight, as Cleveland fell flat on the road. Winning teams rarely give opponents bulletin-board material, especially not a divisional rival. That’s exactly what the Browns did against Baltimore, and while it may not seem like a big deal, it’s a telling sign of where this team is right now. Cleveland has shown a few positives early in the season, but through two weeks the negatives stand out more—and now a very good Green Bay Packers team awaits.

Myles Garrett didn’t hold back his thoughts after the Cleveland Browns were boat raced by the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2
Losing the way that the Cleveland Browns did in Week 2 against the Baltimore Ravens is a tough pill to swallow. Cleveland was on the wrong end of a 41-17 game but only trailed 10-3 at halftime against the Ravens. Everything that could have gone wrong in the second half for the Browns pretty much […]
