Florida State Seminoles’ veteran just sent a warning message to the rest of the country about 1 true freshman
Seminoles defensive back Earl Little Jr. isn’t lying about RB Ousmane Kromah.
It’s hard to recruit well when you have just finished a season with two wins. It’s hard to get those recruits to buy in and get them to stay. But Florida State Seminoles head coach Mike Norvell did that, and he landed some dogs. This freshman class is elite, and it starts with running back Ousmane Kromah.
Kromah has been great despite not being the RB1 on the depth chart. He hasn’t had many opportunities, but he has still made good use of them. He’s been so good that his veteran teammate, defensive back Earl Little Jr., let the world know that Kromah is coming.
“He’s going to be a problem in the future… I’m dead serious,” Little Jr. said on the Nole GameDay Podcast. “The other day in practice, we had this thing called perimeter drill, and he’ll come up to me and tell me how I inspire him, how hard I work, and everything.
“And, he will just ask me some questions about the safeties coming down and everything, taking different angles, and stuff like that to better his game. I respect that about Ous. But look, that man really tried to hurdle me. Ous [Ousmane Kromah] is a freak bro. Y’all just getting a little glimpse of what he can do. I’m telling you, he’s different.”
The true freshman will be great.
Ousmane Kromah could become the next star RB at Florida State
The Seminoles have a unique history of elite running backs. Of course, there is Dalvin Cook, Cam Akers, and Devonta Freeman as some of the more recent guys to go on and have some success in the NFL. Then there are guys like Warrick Dunn, Travis Minor, Greg Allen, and Larry Key. Heck, even Trey Benson and Lawrence Toafili the last few years have been stars, at least around Tallahasse.
And now the Seminoles have a chance to put another guy up there with those all-time greats. I know that’s a lot of pressure on him, but it’s easy to see that he has the skill set and drive to be there. Kromah is still super young and RB4 on the current depth chart, but when he does get chances, he absolutely makes the most of them.
On just 12 carries this year, Kromah has 68 rushing yards, which is 5.7 yards per carry, the highest YPC in the running back room. He hasn’t scored a rushing touchdown yet, but he also hasn’t been given that opportunity. He has scored a receiving touchdown, where he has two catches for 50 yards and a touchdown. He can run the ball, catch the ball, and he’s not that bad at pass protection.
It will only be a matter of time before Kromah starts getting more carries and becomes the No. 1 guy on the roster at his position. Like Little said, he’s different.
