Mississippi State and Tennessee are both trying to land 2026 four-star edge rusher Dre Quinn.

Quinn, 6-foot-4/228 lbs from Buford, GA, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 34 edge rusher in the nation and the No. 38 player in the state of Georgia.

The talented edge rusher was committed to the Clemson Tigers until last week (Quinn decommitted from Clemson because he didn’t feel like he was a good fit in their defensive scheme).

Dre Quinn was in Starkville for Tennessee’s thrilling overtime win over Mississippi State

Quinn was in Starkville this past weekend for a visit to Mississippi State, which meant he got to see something most recruits don’t experience — the way Tennessee fans travel for road games.

Not only did Quinn get to see the Vols pull out a tough win in overtime, but he also got to see Tennessee fans completely ruin Mississippi State’s planned white out.

That kind of scene has to make an impact on you if you’re a recruit. Not many opposing fan bases are taking over a stadium like that (I bet Mississippi State never plans another white out when the Vols are coming to town).

“They (Tennessee) can potentially get Dre Quinn back in here for an official visit in the month of November,” said VolQuest’s Austin Price on 104.5 The Zone’s Ramon and Will on Tuesday. “That would be big. Obviously, Texas is deep in that one. The kid visited Mississippi State this past weekend because he’s (originally) from the Starkville area.

“So he was able to watch Tennessee for a second time in three weeks. Which does not hurt Coach Chop (Vols outside linebackers coach Levorn Harbin) and the defensive staff’s feelings whatsoever — that he was able to be around again.”

We’ll see where things go with Quinn in the coming months, but you gotta believe seeing all of those Vols fans in Starkville left a big impression on the four-star recruit.

‘That’s the bottom line’ – Mississippi State’s Jeff Lebby leaves no doubt how he feels about loss to Tennessee after reviewing the film

Mississippi State Bulldogs head coach Jeff Lebby said that his team “gave” 14 points to the Tennessee Vols on Saturday night in Starkville. Lebby’s comment was in reference to the two defensive touchdowns that Tennessee scored in the Vols’ 41-34 overtime win over the Bulldogs. The second-year Mississippi State head coach suggested that the game […]
