The Green Bay Packers are not waiting to see if kicker Brandon McManus is healthy or not. On Saturday, the team signed veteran kicker Lucas Havrisik, and he will be available on Sunday if McManus can’t play against the Cincinnati Bengals. Green Bay had two open roster spots, so no corresponding move was needed.

Havrisik has been around the NFL since 2022. Undrafted, he’s spent time with the Indianapolis Colts, Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Rams, Browns again, Buffalo Bills, and the Dallas Renegades of the UFL. He actually played only for the Rams in 2023, though, converting 15 of 20 field goals and 19 of 22 extra points in nine games.

The Packers have Mark McNamee on the practice squad, but the rookie is a member of the International Pathway Program and has never played a regular-season game of football. Therefore, Green Bay decided to get a more experienced alternative. During the week, the team worked out Greg Joseph as well, but it decided to sign Havrisik instead.

More roster moves and notes

> The Packers had lost Brant Banks to the Tennessee Titans on waivers. However, the Titans cut Banks this week, he cleared waivers, and now Green Bay brought him back to the practice squad. As a corresponding move, the Packers released edge defender Deslin Alexandre from the PS.

> Green Bay didn’t elevate any player from the practice squad for gameday. That’s great news for the team’s offensive linemen, who are questionable to play. Anthony Belton is out, which means the roster has eight healthy linemen. If one of the three questionable ones couldn’t play, the Packers would likely have elevated Lecitus Smith or Dalton Cooper. The lack of moves is a good indication that left tackle Rasheed Walker, left guard Aaron Banks, and right tackle Zach Tom will all be available to face the Cincinnati Bengals.

> As expected, Christian Watson wasn’t activated. But center Jacob Monk, who was listed as questionable, wasn’t activated from injured reserve, which means he won’t return this week either.
