Packers confirm suspicion right before Cowboys game, and the outcome couldn’t come at a better time
Green Bay listed five players as questionable for “Sunday Night Football” against the Cowboys, and its practice squad decisions already offered strong hints about their status.
The Green Bay Packers confirmed a suspicion before their Week 6 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on “Sunday Night Football.” Rookie cornerback Brandon Cisse is officially active after carrying a questionable designation with a hip injury.
Cisse was added to the injury report on Friday and was limited at practice. Still, the second-round pick never looked in serious danger of missing the game. The Packers chose not to elevate any cornerbacks from the practice squad for gameday, a clear indication the rookie was good to go.

Week 6 vs. Dallas Cowboys

- G Aaron Banks
- G Donovan Jennings
Cornerback depth still a concern
Cisse’s availability is especially relevant because Green Bay is relatively thin at the position. Benjamin St-Juste had been ruled out on Friday with a hamstring injury, so the Packers enter the game with four cornerbacks on the active roster: Cisse, Keisean Nixon, Carrington Valentine, and Kamal Hadden.
Safety Javon Bullard plays in the slot, which helps the depth. The Packers also have Domani Jackson and Elijah Culp on the practice squad, but they decided to keep both players there. That choice told the story about Cisse before the inactives list became official.
Thin defensive tackle group
The same logic applied to defensive tackle Anthony Campbell, who was questionable with an ankle injury. Campbell is active as well, and the lack of elevations at his position was another giveaway.
Green Bay now has only four defensive tackles on the 53-man roster, and it didn’t elevate David Blay Jr. from the practice squad. As a consequence, the Packers will have Devonte Wyatt, Chris McClellan, Karl Brooks, and Campbell as their only active defensive tackles against the Cowboys.
The position took several hits before Sunday. Javon Hargrave is out for the season with a ruptured Achilles tendon, while Jonathan Ford is dealing with a calf injury and was placed on IR. Defensive tackle Jordan Riley was not activated from the physically unable to perform list after initially being listed as doubtful, so he was already ruled out.
Savion Williams returns at the right moment
Wide receiver Savion Williams was also listed as questionable as he returns from injured reserve with an ankle injury. However, the Packers had already given an indication he would play when they activated him from IR on Saturday.
His return comes at the perfect moment. Green Bay placed Skyy Moore, who also served as the team’s kickoff and punt returner, on injured reserve, and Jayden Reed is out for the season. Therefore, Williams’ return is extremely important for the offense.
The Packers now have five wide receivers on the 53-man roster: Christian Watson, Matthew Golden, Bo Moulton, J. Michael Sturdivant, and Williams.
Offensive line and injured reserve moves
The other two players listed as questionable are offensive linemen Aaron Banks, who has knee and toe injuries, and Jacob Monk, who has a quadricep injury. Both were limited participants at practice throughout the entire week, and both are inactive.
As for the rest of the injury report, St-Juste and Riley had already been ruled out. The other three players ruled out on Friday were placed on injured reserve: Hargrave, Ford, and Moore. Ford and Moore will now miss at least four games, while Hargrave won’t be back in 2026.
For the most part, the Packers got the answers they expected at cornerback and defensive tackle. But the margin for error is particularly slim at DT against the Cowboys, and another in-game injury at the position would force Green Bay to get creative with its defensive rotation.
