The NFL trade deadline is looming, and the New York Giants must address their issues at wide receiver. With the deadline coming up on November 4th, the Giants have reportedly been active in making calls to bring someone in.

Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, the Giants have been one of several teams seeking trade partners to improve their wide receiver room since they lost Malik Nabers to a season-ending injury.

Thankfully, the Giants are choosing to be aggressive because they can’t survive with Lil’Jordan Humphrey as their second leading receiver. More importantly, Dart’s development can be hampered if he doesn’t have at least one solid and consistent target. With that in mind, here are three targets that make the most sense.

Chris Olave, New Orleans Saints

The former 2022 first-round pick burst onto the scene with two straight 1,000-yard seasons in the NFL. Since then, Olave’s career has been held back by injuries over the last two seasons. Regardless of his availability, he still has first-round talent and the potential to be productive. So far in 2025, he’s totalled 392 yards on 34 receptions with one touchdown.

Although the New Orleans Saints inexplicably beat the Giants two weeks ago, they still appear to be in rebuild mode. With his fifth-year option already picked up, it positions the Giants nicely to trade for him and potentially sign him to a long-term extension if he plays to his potential. If he could return to his 1,000 form, he’d be the perfect running-mate for Malik Nabers in 2026.

Our Saints writer, Adam Holt, provided important context on why Olave could be on the move and how the Giants are already pursuing him:

Chris Olave has been the center of plenty of trade discussions around social media since the offseason.

He’s got one year left on his current contract, which is the option year that the Saints picked up. As he probably looks for an extension in the near future, it may make sense for New Orleans to move on from him. The Giants did check in with the Saints recently to garner the availability status of Olave, Rashid Shaheed, and possibly even Brandin Cooks. Olave is certainly the wideout in that trio with the greatest overall potential, but he has had some inconsistencies this season. He dropped a couple of passes in Week 6 against the Patriots, and his overall production hasn’t shown as much efficiency as the team may prefer. There are doubts among some fans that he can be the true, alpha WR1 for a passing game, and his contract extension may become pretty pricey whenever it does come.

That being said, the Giants certainly won’t be the only team with Olave on their radar as a bulk of contenders could use another playmaker in their passing game like the Ohio State product. Regardless, the feelers are already out from New York, and it feels a bit more likely that the Saints deal one of their young wide receivers than it did earlier this calendar year.

Jakobi Meyers, Las Vegas Raiders

Before the 2025 regular season, Jakobi Meyers was vocal in requesting a trade to separate from the new regime in Las Vegas. They’ve yet to trade the veteran, and his production is wasting away on an awful team with a quarterback who loves throwing the ball to the other team.

In Meyers’ seven-year NFL career, he’s topped 800 yards four times, totalling 422 catches in that span. While he’s never been a truly dominant receiver, he’s established himself as a reliable target for multiple franchises. Being 28 and having spent so much time in the league, he’d be perfect for the Giants, who could use an experienced target to add to their WR room.

Jerry Jeudy, Cleveland Browns

Jerry Jeudy finally reached his former first-round potential in 2024 when he surpassed 1,200 yards and had four touchdowns. However, the Browns have regressed signficantly and clearly do not have a thought-out plan at quarterback. The 26-year-old receiver could use a change of scenery again.

Undoubtedly, the Giants would get way more out of Jeudy than the 240 yards he has this season. Additionally, he wouldn’t need to be a 1,200-yard receiver when Nabers returns to full health. He’d only need to be a solid second option, better than the ones the Giants currently have on the roster.

It’s positive to hear the Giants are being more active about finding a receiver than was initially perceived. Adding an experienced player is extremely necessary for Dart’s growth after its promising start. Of the options mentioned, Olave is the most exciting knowing what his ceiling is and the ability to pull him away for a bargain.
