Giants QB Jaxson Dart reveals the secret behind New York’s winning culture and how they plan to stay hot vs. the Broncos
New York Giants rookie QB Jaxson Dart spoke on the team’s new identity before they face the Denver Broncos
The New York Giants are seeking to stack wins after beating the Philadelphia Eagles last Thursday night. The energy is high around the team, but they’ll need to reach a new level if they want to win this Sunday against the Denver Broncos.
Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart has sparked a lot of optimism in this current team to rapidly improve in 2025. He’s a driving force for why some beleive they could pull out an upset this Sunday on the road. Dart has generated a new vibe, and he shared with the media what that is.
“We’re trying to set a standard in the locker room,” Dart told the media. “We’re trying to play tough. We’re trying to win at all costs.”
Jaxson Dart wants to start fast
On every opening drive of the last three games, the Giants have scored to start the game. Starting hot and exploding out of the gate has driven the team’s improved offensive production. Dart attributed that intentionality to beginning the game with points is something empahised to him by his college coach at Ole Miss, Lane Kiffin.
“It’s such a big tone setter for each and every game. And it was something in college that, when I played with coach [Lane Kiffin], he always elected to have the ball,” Dart told reporters, “One of the biggest things since I got into college was starting fast … Just trying to push everybody to play fast and execute at a high level … But it’s definitely really important for us to get out to a fast start.”
Punching it in on the opening drive against the Broncos on the road will go a long way in sparking a much needed victory. Dart also alluded to how the team needs to focus on battling through adversity better.
“You gotta be able to weather the storm. Not everything is going to be perfect,” Dart state, “There’s going to be mistakes. There’s going to be momentum shifts throughout every game.”
Not effectively bouncing back from mistakes is what ultimately cost the Giants in their loss to the New Orleans Saints. Penalities and turnovers snowballed into a loss that should not have happened. Facing a Broncos defense that leads the league in sacks will require this Giants team to quickly recover when plays don’t go their way.
Overall, the most important part in establishing momentum after the Eagles victory is not riding too high after the win. With the game in the rearview, Dart spoke on how they need to maintain a level headedness to their upcoming games
“Winning helps. It definitely puts more smiles on people’s faces, Dart said to reporters, “As players, this is what we come to work every day to do. So we can’t treat it as something that’s surprising or out of the ordinary. We work our tails off to be able to go in and win games. And if we slouch at all in this league, you’re going to get beat.”
This Sunday begins a brutal three game stretch where the Giants will have to face the Broncos, Eagles, and 49ers. The newfound identity of the team can help lead them to a victory.
