Mike Norvell and the Florida State Seminoles are trying to not lose their fourth-straight game, after falling to the Pittsburgh Panthers last Saturday at home. While Stanford isn’t great, losing CB Ja’Bril Rawls will make that game much harder, as the injury report before the game revealed that, and a few other potential players who could miss the ACC matchup.

“I feel good with how things are trending, but there are still some things up in the air right now,” Norvell told reporters when asked how he feels about the availability going into the game.

The Seminoles should still win this game, but Rawls is one of the better CBs on the team that they will now be without.

The Seminoles should still beat Stanford on the road

Seminoles vs. Stanford stats and notes

  • Florida State heads to California for its first matchup against Stanford in the program’s history.
  • The 10:30 p.m. ET kickoff will tie the latest scheduled start in school history, matching previous games at San Diego State in 1973 and 1977.
  • Stanford is 2-4 on the season, with losses to Hawaii, SMU, Virginia, and BYU. They’ve beaten Boston College and San Jose State.

Based on everything we know about Stanford this season, losing to them would be something that the program will certainly take into consideration when it comes to firing or keeping Norvell. So, this is a must-win game for him, in a way.

“It will show how practice went on Saturday, and I think our guys understand what we need to do. Right now, there is a lot of emotion to the process, and that’s something we are continuing to pour into them. We’ve got to enjoy the journey for improvement,” Norvell said Wednesday.

Wide receiver Duce Robinson, running back Roydell Williams, wide receiver Jayvan Boggs, and a few other key players are also listed as questionable for the game against Stanford. If any of those guys miss the game, it’s not going to be easy at all for FSU on Saturday night.
