There is virtually nothing good coming from the Las Vegas Raiders’ loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7. Usually, you can take some good and bad in even some of the worst losses. The only truly good thing from this loss is Pete Carroll’s injury update on Maxx Crosby. It seems like things might not be as bad as some had thought.

“Maxx [Crosby] has had a bit of a sore knee, and I don’t know how it happened today in the game early, but he wasn’t his full self. He could play, and he wanted to be in there, but we had to yank him because he just didn’t look right,” Carroll told reporters after the game.

Raiders had more injury concerns than just Crosby

“Somehow, Adam Butler’s back spasmed up in pregame, and he couldn’t play,” Carroll added. “Jakobi (Meyers), we worked him out and tried to get him out there, and he couldn’t go. He wasn’t quite right. That’s a lot of really good players, and we need every one we can get, so it was it was hard anyway. There are a lot of other things that happened as well.”

Butler is the best defensive tackle that the Raiders have, and him not being out there is a huge hole in both the run and pass game. He and Crosby, the two best defensive line players, being hurt, is a big reason why the Chiefs had it so easy in the pocket and in the run game.

On the offensive side of things, some thought there may have been an injury there, too, with Jackson Powers-Johnson.

“No, we took him out. We gave Alex (Cappa) a shot,” Carroll said.

The Raiders are getting some relatively good news, all things considered. Now, they need to fix everything else wrong with their team. The Raiders are on a bye next week before playing the Jacksonville Jaguars, and then the Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys, both on primetime TV.
