Lane Kiffin trash-talks David Stone in postgame interview

“This guy [DT David Stone] yelled at me during the game like five times, saying how great they are and we can’t run on them,” Kiffin said as he playfully tapped on Stone’s chest.

Stone was just trying to dap up Kiffin and tell him good game, but Kiffin wanted to boast for a bit. And when you win a game like that, you have the right to do that. However, a lot of people are mad that Kiffin did that to an opposing player. These are kids, so it’s understandable why some would be upset. You see it with coaches to other coaches often, never really with coaches and players.

Since then, Kiffin has explained his side of the story.

“That’s just me. He was talking the whole game to me. I did a good job, I felt, of not talking back. He kept telling me you ain’t going to score and all this. I didn’t go try to find him. He was just walking by. That’s just kind of me.”

The Sooners have a ton of issues to fix if they want to redeem themselves and have a chance at the College Football Playoffs. Losing to Ole Miss stings for them because it makes it so much harder to get into the CFP over a team like Ole Miss, who will be fighting for a spot, too.

With everything we saw on Saturday, the last thing this team should be worried about is Kiffin. There are a ton of things they need to fix, and if they’re going to win another game this season, they need to get right to work.
