4-star recruit that’s committed to a Big 10 program is set to visit Tennessee for Vols’ game against Oklahoma
The Tennessee Vols are hoping to flip a four-star running back that’s committed to a Big 10 program.
The Tennessee Vols are working hard to flip a 2026 four-star running back from a Big 10 program.
2026 four-star running back Amari Latimer has been committed to the Wisconsin Badgers since late June, but he hasn’t completely shut down his recruitment yet (and it’s unlikely that he will).
Latimer, 5-foot-11/230 lbs from Tyrone, GA, is set to visit to Tennessee this weekend for the Vols’ big game against the Oklahoma Sooners.
“The Vols have been pushing for Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek Rivals300 running back Amari Latimer for a long time as they battle Miami and Ohio State to flip him from Wisconsin,” noted On3’s Steve Wiltfong.
Latimer is rated by 247Sports as the No. 18 running back in the nation and the No. 34 player in the state of Georgia.
There’s a decent chance that Wisconsin, which has lost its last six games, will fire head coach Luke Fickell in the near future. As a result, it seems inevitable that Latimer will decommit from the Badgers, though the Vols will still have to fend off Miami and Ohio State to land the four-star recruit.
Another Big 10 commit will visit Tennessee this weekend
Latimer isn’t the only recruit that’s committed to a Big 10 program that will be in Knoxville this weekend.
Wiltfong also reported that 2026 four-star offensive lineman Micah Smith will visit Tennessee on Saturday.
Smith, 6-foot-5/325 lbs from Vero Beach, FL, has been committed to UCLA since early June. He’s rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 12 interior offensive lineman in the nation and the No. 29 player in the state of Florida.
Ohio State and Ole Miss are also in the mix for Smith.
