Aggies’ key offensive star catching the attention of NFL scouts as one of the top players in the 2026 NFL Draft
Texas A&M offensive lineman Chase Bisontis has caught the attention of NFL scouts, and could be on his way to a high draft selection
The Texas A&M Aggies have had quite the 2025 season, and it’s been largely due to the talent of the roster. The defense is led by stars like Cashius Howell and Will Lee, while the offense boasts a plethora of talented players like Heisman-contender quarterback Marcel Reed, wide receivers KC Concepcion and Mario Craver, and a deep stable of running backs.
However, there’s one player whose name has flown under the radar as a key figure in A&M’s success, and that is guard Chase Bisontis. Bisontis, the team’s left guard for the last two seasons, has caught the attention of NFL scouts, and his improvement as a pass protector has him firmly among the top players at his position in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft.
If Bisontis declares, he could be just the fourth Aggie offensive lineman drafted in the first 100 picks since 2016, and it sounds like he could be drafted much earlier than many might have expected entering the season.
Chase Bisontis is the “Best Pass Protector in the Class”
NFL draft analyst Cory Kinnan, who contributes for The Browns Wire and covers the NFL Draft through his Substack Daft on Draft, recently did an entire film room episode on Bisontis’s performance and contributions to A&M’s dominant win over LSU last weekend. In it, Kinnan had high praise for Bisontis, including a strong prediction for where his draft stock should be based on his film.
“I think this is a rock solid football player here. Clean hands, awesome placement, good grip strength. The balance is fantastic in pass pro. His feet, hips, shoulders all working in unison in pass pro, and he’s got a really strong anchor when he gets those hips dropped in those jump sets. Fluid athlete, so he’s just checking off box after box. Now, his pad level creeps up and he’ll get over his skis in the run game, so there are some things we need to work through here, but in my opinion, this is one of the better guards I’ve seen in the class. This looks like a guy who should go Day 2 and probably in the second round.”
If Bisontis does indeed go in the second round, he would be A&M’s highest-drafted offensive lineman since Kenyon Green and just their second offensive lineman to be selected in the second round since 2000, joining Erik McCoy. Mike Elko’s coaching staff promised NFL development, and they are delivering on both sides of the ball so far.
