The Kansas City Chiefs have been firing on all cylinders as of late, getting hot at the right time. And, by the right time, I mean just before they play the Buffalo Bills, a team they seem to play twice a year, every year now. This may not be considered a rivalry to most, considering the Chiefs always win the big one, but at this point, Buffalo may as well be in the AFC West.

Even if Kansas City always wins the postseason game between these two – as they’ve won the last four – this matchup is always pure cinema. A large reason why is that the two quarterbacks, Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen, are always doing insane things. Mahomes is the best player in the world, but he’s not afraid to admit and show the respect he has for Allen.

Chiefs vs. Bills all-time history

  • Buffalo Bills lead series 30-26-1.
  • The Bills vs. Chiefs rivalry has been played 57 times including seven postseason games.
  • Chiefs have all-time postseason record at 5-2.
  • Largest victory was Bills win 44-10 in 1994.

Patrick Mahomes talks Josh Allen’s incredible skillset before the matchup

“To be that size and to be able to move like that, he’s (Bills QB Josh Allen) done so many great things as far as throwing the football and stuff like that, but the way he is able to extend plays (and) be close to the sideline and make some of those big-time throws down the field, that stuff is special,” Mahomes told reporters on Wednesday. “He has gotten better and better each and every year. I think that’s something that I’ve seen in him, so that’s something that I try to do for myself as well. He’s a great football player.”

These two teams have played seven times, all-time, against one another in the postseason. These two quarterbacks have played one another nine times. Allen has the head-to-head record in the regular season at 4-1, with Mahomes being 4-0 against Allen in the postseason.

There has to be a portion of Bills Mafia that wants their team to lose this game this week. If they win it, it almost feels like a guarantee that the Chiefs will beat them in the playoffs. Then again, if they lose this game to the Chiefs, they risk giving up a potential spot at the No. 1 seed in the playoffs.

It’s still somewhat early in the season, but it feels like this game already has a lot riding on it.
