The Miami Dolphins are now a team that is officially in transition. They made the decision to part ways with general manager Chris Grier, who had been with the organization in multiple positions since 2000. That includes as the GM for the team, a position that Grier had held since 2016. A new era is upon us, and things could look significantly different heading into the future.

Who knows who will be calling the shots for Miami moving forward, but regardless of who it is, they are going to have their work cut out for them. One of the first big tests will be the 2026 NFL Draft, where this team desperately needs to fill some massive holes in the roster. With how poorly this season has been going so far, that is what Dolphins fans have to look forward to right now.

In the most recent 2026 NFL mock draft, the main objective was to strengthen both the offensive and defensive lines. Prioritizing the rest of the needs was the next step.

Round 1, Pick 5: Spencer Fano, OT, Utah

The Dolphins could upgrade multiple positions on their offensive line, and right tackle should be right near the top of that list. Fano is a very smooth athlete who also plays with some strong hands, showcasing that initial pop when blocking on the move. Fano also has the ability to play multiple spots as well.

Round 2, Pick 36: AJ Harris, CB, Penn State

The cornerback position was a strength for the Dolphins not too long ago, but it has morphed into a bit of a disaster very quickly. Harris is a very physical cover man who plays with a lot of tenacity. The secondary could use this injection of swagger and confidence.

Round 3, Pick 70: Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, S, Toledo

A big safety at over 6-3 and 209 pounds, McNeil-Warren has the body type and physicality to make a ton of plays in the box and tackling out in space. The Toledo star is also a much more talented cover man than some will give him credit for, bringing appealing upside as an all-around defensive chess piece. This is the type of presence that the Dolphins need more and more of in the secondary.

Round 3, Pick 76: Dominique Orange, DT, Iowa State

A massive interior presence at 6-4 and 325 pounds, “Big Citrus” has some absurd power that he brings to the table. Orange also has some explosiveness and length for the position, giving him the upside to make some plays behind the line of scrimmage as well. His style could mesh very well up front with Zach Seiler.

Round 4, Pick 105: Trinidad Chambliss, QB, Ole Miss

With the Tua Tagovailoa contract still looming large, the best-case scenario is for Miami to try and develop the quarterback talent behind him. After beginning his career on the D2 level with Ferris State, Chambliss has become an unlikely hero for the Rebels this season. While he is a smaller quarterback, Chambliss is a gifted athlete who has put together some intriguing film in 2025.

Round 5, Pick 144: Deion Burks, WR, Oklahoma

It’s been a frustrating couple of seasons with Oklahoma, struggling with durability and confidence. While he’s a smaller pass catcher, Burks is tremendous in space. He has legitimate acceleration, is quick, and can make a ton of plays after the catch.

Round 7, Pick 220: Ryan Baer, OT, Pittsburgh

From an athleticism perspective, Baer might be better served shifting inside on the next level. He blocks with tremendous effort and has good overall power to work with. Moving him inside could help to mitigate some of his shortcomings and allow him to play more in a phone booth.
