Chicago Bears offensive lineman Darnell Wright, a former Tennessee Vols standout, made an NFL Pro Bowler look like a high school player in a Week 10 win against the New York Giants.

In the fourth quarter, with the Bears down by 10 and badly needing a touchdown, Wright made Giants pass rusher Brian Burns look absolutely silly.

Burns, a two-time Pro Bowler, broke out his spin move to try to get past Wright.

The former Vol, however, quickly shut things down.

Burns is a great player, but Wright owned that rep.

You don’t see many premier NFL pass rushers get completely dominated like that. Wright certainly has a bright future ahead in the NFL.

Darnell Wright was recently praised by former NFL tight end

Former NFL tight end Clay Harbor heaped praise on Wright last week for the way the former Vol has played this season.

“This guy [has given up] one sack all year,” said Harbor on 670 The Score. “He’s doing cartwheels with a banged up elbow. The blocking game that he had last week, and honestly throughout the whole season — I played with Lane Johnson. I played with Jason Peters for four years. I’ve played with Ryan Ramczyk. I played with a bunch of good tackles — [including] Nate Solder. This guy is talented, maybe more talented than all of them.

“He reminds me of a young Jason Peters the way he can get out and run and his physicality. He’s just heavy handed. He’s good in the run game, good in the pass game. He’s moving guys.”

Wright, a first round pick by the Bears in the 2023 NFL Draft, doesn’t get many headlines because he plays along the offensive line instead of a more “glamorous” position like wide receiver, but his NFL career is off to a terrific start.
