Tennessee Vols legend Peyton Manning wasn’t at UT’s homecoming win against New Mexico State on Saturday afternoon.

Peyton, however, didn’t totally skip out on SEC football this weekend.

The Pro Football Hall of Famer was in Athens on Saturday night to check out the matchup between the Texas Longhorns and the Georgia Bulldogs.

Peyton’s nephew, Arch Manning, is the Longhorns’ starting quarterback.

Peyton’s son Marshall was also at the game to support Arch.

Notably, Peyton, who is close friends with Georgia head coach Kirby Smart, didn’t wear Tennessee or Texas colors for the game.

I’m sure Peyton was missed at Tennessee’s homecoming, but it’s more than understandable that he went to Athens to support his nephew.

By the way, Texas is scheduled to play Tennessee in Knoxville next season, and the expectation is that Arch will be the Longhorns’ starting quarterback.

That could be a tough day, emotionally, for Peyton.
