The Los Angeles Rams are a very dangerous team right now. Head coach Sean McVay has this team playing very confidently, and quarterback Matthew Stafford is playing arguably the best football of his entire NFL career. As long as those two are leading this program, the Rams have a chance to be a championship contender.
With Stafford aging quickly, general manager Les Snead will need to do his best to keep the winning window open as long as possible. The Rams have done a good job of finding value throughout drafts during his tenure. Snead and his staff must do the same in the 2026 NFL Draft, where I have put together an early 7-round mock draft.
The priority was to add impact players to the defense, but to also continue to surround Stafford with more support. Both were accomplished with this impressive haul.
Rams 7-round mock draft
Round 1, Pick 8: Jermod McCoy, CB, Tennessee
If McCoy hadn’t gotten injured during this past spring, everyone would be talking about him. He’s the most talented cornerback in the 2026 class, possessing an outstanding blend of press man skills, physicality, and speed. This is a CB1 on the next level if healthy.
Round 1, Pick 29: Kevin Concepcion, WR, Texas A&M
“KC” has become one of the cleaner wide receiver prospects since transferring over from NC State. He does most of his work from the slot, where Concepcion’s ability as a route runner and after the catch are major assets. The skill set he brings could go a long way to taking some attention off of Puka Nacua.
Round 2, Pick 61: Blake Miller, OT, Clemson
Miller has quietly had a strong season for Clemson. The talent has always been there, and Miller’s core strength has continued to improve. With Rob Havenstein nearing the end, Miller could be the ideal replacement for him long term.
Round 3, Pick 93: Josiah Trotter, LB, Missouri
The “other son” of former Pro Bowl linebacker Jeremiah, Josiah is actually the better prospect of the two brothers. Trotter has an old school feel to his game, playing well working through contact. His physicality should translate well early in his NFL career.
Round 5, Pick 169: Trinidad Chambliss, QB, Ole Miss
A year ago, Chambliss was seeking a D2 championship for Ferris State. Now he is a starting quarterback in the SEC, and he could have an NFL career. While Chambliss doesn’t have the greatest arm talent of all time, he is talented enough as a passer and a very dynamic runner that could give him a sound floor to work with.
Round 6, Pick 192: Tao Johnson, S, Utah
Johnson is a lightly built safety who excels in pass coverage. He is a very smooth mover who has a good feel for zone coverage. There is also some man upside when working in the slot as well, but Johnson will need to get stronger.
Round 6, Pick 207: Braelin Moore, OC, LSU
Moore is a nice athlete from the interior, but does lack some size on the interior. That will limit Moore to playing mostly center on the next level, but he does fit that role well. That profile is more than good enough to take a chance on it at this point in the draft.
Round 6, Pick 228: DeMonte Capehart, DT, Clemson
Capehart is an explosive and talented interior defensive lineman who has just never put it together. If he ever does develop, Capehart has some upside to become a starter. There are just some major questions as to whether he will ever hit that ceiling.
Round 7, Pick 247: Trebor Pena, WR, Penn State
Pena was a really good player at Syracuse previously, but he has seen a downslide in terms of production with the Nittany Lions. He is still a smooth mover and good route runner, so there is an okay floor to work with. There just isn’t much of a ceiling to get excited about.
